Well, I have decided that 2008 is the year for us to get organized. I've realized that this year we have taken hundreds of digital photos of precious moments, downloaded them onto our computer in various folders, and hurried on our way. I've forgotten where I have stored most of them. So it's time to get organized. I thought it might be fun in an attempt to keep our photos organized that it would be fun to share our adventures with our family and friends.
Here is an update of the last year for us....
Mike and I welcomed our first child on April 20, 2007. It was a rollercoaster getting him here. Due to my past illnesses and surgeries we decided to go with a specialist in LA to deliver him. That meant every appointment was a trip to LA. The bills sure added up, and so did the milage on the car, but it was well worth it. My C-section was scheduled for April 23rd, but baby had other plans. After a night in the hospital with constant monitoring, it was decided to deliver on April 20th. Our family had only a few hours to get thier things together in a hurry and get to LA before little baby Maddox Ryan Burton entered the world. We are so grateful for our little one.
The beginning of June we had my baby shower and the next day Maddox was blessed. We were fortunate to have almost all of our family, and even dear friends attend. We are grateful for the supportive family that we have. In June we also moved into my parents home for a couple months. The plan was to save up for a house for a few months. Although we have enjoyed our stay, and appreciate all the help babysitting, it will be nice to be in a place of our own. We are crossing our fingers that that will happen soon. In August my mom, sister, Maddox and I went to Utah for Education Week at BYU. We sure enjoyed ourselves. I made Mike promise me that he would attend next year (he has no idea what he is getting himself into!). Us girls (and of course Maddy) had a blast. It was nice to get away for a while and to be so uplifted by attending such a wonderful event. In November we headed to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. We had such a wonderful time. Its always nice to spend time with family. And of course just this last week was Christmas. How wonderful it was!!! It was Maddy's first Christmas. He of course had no clue what was going on, but we insisted on video taping every second of it anyways. Maddox was spoiled with SO many new toys. It was fun to watch him, especially because his favorite thing to play with was the boxes!!
Well, I think that about sums it all up. We are excited to share our lives with so many of you.
