My Big Helper!
I just thought this was too cute to pass up! Here I am blogging away, and Maddox is in the kitchen with Grandma Weeze "doing the dishes". I hope he is as helpful in a couple years as he tries to be now! We sure love him!
"He's Beefy!"
This weekend we babysat/housesat for some family friends. Carrie and Steve, the parents, wanted a little getaway, so we were asked to come hand out with the kids for a couple of days. We LOVE the kids! They are so much fun! All we do all weekend is play! Mattie (11), Remi (9...almost 10!), Race (6) and Juicy(5) are the cutest kids ever! Saturday we went to the park and to McDonalds for Happy Meals followed by a movie night! Sunday we hung out around the house and played Wii, then went to church. Followed by another movie night! This morning we woke up, and since it was raining cats and dogs, we played Wii again! They have a game (like I really know what it's called), where you can make people. I think it's called "Mii". Anyways, you can pick the face shape, and clothes and hair and eyes and mouth and facial expressions and even the shape of the face... how tall they are and even if they are skinny or heavy! It's amazing! The kids decided they wanted to make a "Maddox Mii". We started with the basics. Hair color, eyes, mouth. The next options had to do with the shape of the face and how big you wanted the body. They made Maddox a little on the heavy side! I asked the kids, "Did you make Maddox chubby on purpose? Do you think he is fat?" Thier response... "No, he's not fat. He's BEEFY!" I about died laughing! I guess it is true. He already weighs more than his best friend, who is about 2 months older than him. Haha!
In other news, I was called yesterday to serve at Girls Camp! Yay! I generally don't enjoy camping, but for some reason I LOVE Girls Camp! (maybe it's the yummy food!) I was called to be Activities Assistant. I am so excited!
Also... President Hinkley died yesterday. When Mike and I recieved the text message (yes, that really is how we found out. Kinda crazy that we live in a world where we can recieve information instantly without talking to a soul!) we were SO sad. We could not believe it. We just sat there in awe. He had to have been one of the most absolutely loved and adored prophets. We are going to miss him incredibly.

ORANGE!
What's Your True Color?
My Result: Orange
You're a bold, confident orange. A warm, powerful color that indicates a strong, welcoming personality, orange is the mark of people who are social and extroverted by nature. Vibrant, with an upbeat attitude, you have a bright, inviting demeanor. Energetic and fun-loving, you're a real friend-magnet. Your easy charm and unassuming manner make you the sort of person people want to meet and get to know better. Well-rounded and fun to be around, you enjoy helping others, so it's no surprise that orange also symbolizes attraction. Orange is an extraordinary color — for an extraordinary person.

Finally... SLEEP!!!
Last night Mike and I decided to stay at his parents house. Maddox loves going to grandma and grandpa Burton's house, and for some reason he seems to sleep SO much better! I was a little nervous when 10:3opm rolled around and he was still bouncing off the walls. Our usually routine is to give him a bottle and then walk around with him and sing a little song in his ear. Works every time!! And he is VERY particular about being put on his belly and sleeping or else he wakes right up! Last night thought, we seemed to try everything, bouncing him, giving him a bottle, we sang songs together and I even tried turning on Little Einsteins (his FAVORITE show.... its the only one he will sit still 5 minutes for and actually watch). Absolutely nothing worked. I threw my hands in the air and said fine, play! Wear yourself out! So I put him on the bed and pulled out some toys. Within five minutes he was OUT! Why hadn't I done this earlier?? I could have saved So much time and energy! He was even laying on his back with a toy in his hand! That is SO not like him! Oh well... Maddox slept through the night and thats all I could ask for. FINALLY! A night of sleep!!!

Will I Ever Get To Sleep Again?!?
This weekend was totally and completely insane. It happened to be a high school formal weekend, which means I'm booked back to back for about 3 days (not even enough time for a potty break!) doing nails. It's great money, but the days are long and hectic! On top of that, Maddox has been sick, and teething, and had to go to the Dr on Friday. Dr said to give him Benedryl so he would sleep through the night, and I could get a good night's rest. YA RIGHT! Im pretty sure the medication had the opposite affect on Maddox, because for three nights straight he has been up ALL NIGHT! On top of that, Sunday morning Maddox had a little coughing spell, which made him gag he was coughing so hard and threw up all over, and I mean ALL OVER me, him and the comforter! EW!!! Vienna sausage, formula and fruit cup chunks EVERYWHERE! (don't you love the details!) I have never seen anything like it. I couldn't believe it. Needless to say its Monday afternoon, and I am still beyond exhausted. I sure hope he gets better soon, I'm not sure how much longer I can go without at least a little sleep... Oh the joys of being a mother!

Our Little Sushi Boy

Last Friday night Mike and I were CRAVING sushi! Lucky for us my best friend Melissa had given us a gift certificate for one of our favorite sushi bars for Christmas! Usually Maddox will just eat Cheerios when we go out, but we wanted to see if we could start him on some sticky rice. Mike started eating sushi when he was just a little baby, and hasn't stopped eating it since! We were so excited when Maddox LOVED it! I he had so much fun eating off of the chopsticks, and we were certainly impressed that he could, considering he has a hard time when we feed him from a spoon! We can't wait until he is old enough for a Philidelphia Roll or my favorite, Shrimp Tempura Roll. We love that he is being becoming our little sushi boy!
