I Guess It's About Time

Well, Ive been tagged twice, so I guess it's about time I do it. I tried to just ignore the first one, but when I saw the second one, I figured I needed to just give into the game.

The instructions are to describe yourself with words starting with the letters from your middle name like a Acrostic Poem. And then tag 3 friends.

Technically, at least on any record I don't have a middle name. However, when I got married the idea was to use my maiden name as my new middle name, so we will just go with that.

N ostalgic. I love taking pictures for memories sake. I very much enjoy catching up with old friends. Ive had a great life, and I love thinking about all the good times.

I ndependant. Sometimes a little too much for my own good. I have a hard time accepting help or recognizing that I even need any. I have a hard time letting go of things and so instead of asking for help Id rather do it myself and feel overwhelmed.

C rude. Im terrible at burping or talking about innapropriate things at the dinner table. Sometimes I really gotta watch myself.

O rganized. Maybe not at home, but when I have a calling or assignment I am extremely organized and pay complete attention to details.

L ister. OK I total just made that word up but Im goin with it. I very nuch enjoy making lists, just so I can cross them off. Makes me feel like I got something done and helps me analyze my progress.

L oyal. I try my hardest to be a loyal family member and friend. I forgive too often, serve by best, and overlook imperfections just for the sake of keeping the peace and preserving the relationship. Once youre a part of my life, youre a part of it forever.

S tressed. I have all too many meetings, assignments, responsibilites and obligations that have been all too overwhelming. Two nervous breakdowns in one week is normal right? I have to admit though, much of this stress is because of my independance, which you can read more about under "I" of this little game.

sweet...Im totally done. Whos next?? How about Lindsay Lark, Krysta Martinez, and Kacey Locke.... yup! TAG! You're it!!

Happy 1st Birthday Maddox!

Today was Maddy's 1st Birthday! I can't believe he is already a year old! My how time fliest. Because today is a Sunday, and we wanted to do something super fun as a family together, we actually celebrated yesterday. We had a family zoo party! We went to the zoo and spent the afternoon pulling Maddy in his new wagon (thanks pops and grammy!). He LOVES his wagon! We even took him to the petting zoo there but he was much more interested in what all the other kids were doing than he was petting the animals.
We got to see pretty much all of the animals which kinda suprised us because we got there an hour before it closed! I thought there was no way we would get through it but we did! Grandma Weeze even made sure to show him the flamingos. She was so excited to show him. While they watched she told him what they were doing. "See the two pretty birds. Look at them come over here in the water. Wow, look how pretty that one is while she spreads her wings. Oh wait! No! No!" This would have been about the time when the other bird jumped on top of the first bird and started going at it. I guess my son doesnt need the birds and the bees talk now. Infact, who needs the bees? He got to see the birds and the birds first hand! It was SO funny! Thanks Grandma Weeze! What an educational experience! After the zoo we went home and had a BBQ. Yum! We opened presents. Of course, however, he was more interested in carrying around the bags the toys came in than he did the actual toys. Silly kid. Maddox even had a blast destroying his Zoo themed cake. He was on the biggest sugar high the rest of the night! What a fun day!

The Treadmill

We thought it would be funny if we put Maddox on the treadmill to see if he could walk on it. He suprised us... He actually could! After we turned it off he went and got his sippy cup full of water and then got back on the treadmill. He looked at us like "uh... why isnt this thing going?" I swear he is the goofiest kid. I sure love him.

Sad Day....

This morning I was informed that a sister of a close friend had passed away last night. My first thought turned to the sister, how unfortunate to leave this earth so young. What a struggle the last 2 1/2 years had been. How could such an unfortate thing happen? And then my thoughts immediately turned to the family left to pick up the pieces. How heartbreaking, how devistating, and yet, im assuming, what a relief to know that she is in a better place. A place where she is well, feeling good again. Something I know she hasnt felt in a long time. I cant imagine living through something like this.
I didnt know her personally, in fact I cant ever remember meeting her. I can only imagine her something like the rest of her family. Found joy in life... EVERYTHING in life. Always smiling. Made sure to make people feel like they were wanted and important. Funny. Outgoing. Made friends with everyone she met. Thoughtful. Self Assured. A Little Quirky, yet completely stable. Beautiful. A True Leader. Respectful. Strong. Very Strong. Faithful. Sensitive. Encouraging. Helpful. Optimistic. In Tune with the Spirit. Loyal. Loving. Patient. I know that she brought great joy to her family. I know her sisters looked up to her, and admired everything about her. I am grateful for her, not because of the direct impact she has had on my life, but because I know of the impact that she had on others. Its obvious to me how wonderful she was. She was so special. Im sure the Heavens rejoiced at her homecoming.

Girls Night Out

Tonight was absolutely perfect! Time Out for Women was in town, and instead of spending the $65 it would have cost me to buy a ticket and be spiritually fed, I decided, along with my sister, mother, sister in law, and mother in law that we would rather spend the money on being physically fed. It has been a LONG time since we had had girls night out, so we took advantage. We had reservations for Sukura Chaya (which for those of you in the area is a WONDERFUL japanese restaurant with the same owners as japanese kitchen. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!). I treated myself to some filet and shrimp (not to mention all the other goodies that come along with the meal!) and I ate EVERY STINKIN' BITE! (oink! oink!) Then my sister, mom and I wanted to go see a movie. Of course, since its our one time a year we actually make it to the movies there would be absolutely NOTHING of worth watching, so we saw Horton Hears a Who. (I think I'm naming my first daughter Katie now... she was TOO adorable!). This night is DEFINETELY something that I have needed for a LONG time! Im so thankful for such a loving and wonderful husband who took Maddox all night so I could enjoy myself for the evening. This is something I will definetely have to do again SOON!

Another Haircut

Maddox was in DESPERATE need of a haircut. I made an appointment for this last Friday, but I was not looking forward to taking him to the salon, considering last time he screamed and kicked and cried. This time, however, things went MUCH better!

Ear Infections

I am completely frustrated. Yesterday we had a follow up appointment at the Dr to check on Maddy's ears. He STILL has ear infections. This is bad news! This is his 3rd ear infection in 3 months. Talking to the Dr she said that he's halfway to getting tubes put in his ears. I guess if you get 6 ear infections in a rolling 12 months its time to see an ear/nose/throat specialist to move forward on that. 3 ear infections in 3 months is NOT good odds. She had to put him on an even stronger medication, which will hopefully clear up the infection, but has a tendancy to make children sick. AWESOME! Just what I need. I guess I shouldn't just think of myself and how completely inconvenient this is for me. Its just that I have SO much going on I'm feeling like adding one more thing to my plate is going to push me over. And yet, all I can think about is how bad I feel for Maddy. He has been hurting now for 3 months and his ears still aren't better. I just hope this ear infection clears up quickly!
