Flu Bug = No Fun

Well, Maddox has had the flu all stinkin' day long. He woke up around 6:30am vomiting. 4 out of the 10 times he threw up were ALL over me (oh the joys of being a mom) We even had to call the Dr because he couldn't keep ANYTHING down. Dr said to try some popsicles, which to my suprise he actually kept down! All he wanted to do was sleep all day! Poor little guy! Around 2:30pm he finally started perking up. He even played a little with daddy on the floor. We thought for sure he had gotten over his bug. He kept down crackers, pedialite, and popsicles. 6 hours later though, it all came up and we are back at square one. Now, after 4 pairs of pajamas, 6 of Maddy's outfits, 2 pillows, 1 comforter, and 3 blankets in the wash, my little man is resting comfortably, and is hopefully asleep for the night.

Happy Wedding Day!

Bennion Wedding

Well, this morning my little sister got married in the Fresno Temple. What a wonderful day it has been! Like I said in my last post, they just decided last Sunday to move the date to today, so it has been quite the week! It has been wonderful to see everything come together so well.

Last night we took Krissy and some friends to Casa Corona for a little girl's night out! It was fun to hear everyone's advice for her. One of her friend's advice was "always fight naked". I thought that was hilarious. It was neat to all be together for one last hoorah!

This morning, for the sealing and luncheon, it was nothing but family and super close friends. I don't think there was more than 30 of us. It was so nice to be with family and really focus on Austin and Kristen. I've never seen a more happy couple. They are adorable together and I know that they are going to have a wonderful eternity together. Congratulations Mr and Mrs Bennion!!

What A Day!

I haven't had a day quite like this in some time. It's Valentine's Day. I LOVE Valentine's Day. Maddox actually slept through the night last night, so I woke up completely refreshed and ready for the day. I felt like nothing could go wrong! HA! About an hour after Maddox woke up he started screaming! He is going through this stage that if I'm not with him, actually holding him, then he is NOT a happy camper. This, of course, doesn't work out so well for me. My day cannot consist of just holding him all day (although I wish I could. Cuddle time with Maddy is my favorite!) I hurried and got ready, and dropped Maddox off with a friend of mine so Mike and I could go to lunch. We had a little time to spare between dropping of Maddox and our reservation, so we headed to the mall to pick up our gifts for eachother. Mike wanted protien stuff. He has been on a real body building kick lately, and since the shakes and suppliments are so expensive he thought it would be a nice gift for himself. We picked me up a bottle of my perfume and we were off to lunch! I was so excited because we were going to a new restaurant for tempanyaki (Mike pronounces it TempanYUMMY. He is so goofy!) We got there, and the chef was messing pretty much everything up. It was delicious, but they forgot to get Mike's vegetables, then they forgot my shrimp. It seriously took us TWO HOURS. That's insane for some guy to cook up some lunch. Don't get me wrong, I loved spending time with my husband, but two hours at a table sitting with people you don't know can get a little old after a while. While we were at lunch our doctor called and said that he decided Maddox needed a prescription because his iron count was so low. (He had a wellness check up yesterday and they did a little blood sample). Awesome, just what we need is another prescription for Maddox. Needless to say our time together this afternoon was wonderful. It was nice to get away for a couple of hours just the two of us. I can't remember the last time we got to be alone for a while.

During our lunch date Mike informed me that the boys are throwing a little get together for our future brother in law tomorrow night. For those of you who haven't heard, my sister is getting married Saturday morning. She has been engaged since last fall, the wedding was set for August 16th after Austin (my sister's fiance) gets back from his military training, but plans have changed. Last Sunday (as in 4 days ago) my sister informed me that they had decided to get married THIS Saturday, before Austin leaves. That gave us 6 days to get everything together. After hearing that the boys were all getting together, it's only natural that the girls get together. Since I am the big sis, I guess it was my job to get a little something thrown together. So this afternoon I frantically called around to restaurants trying to find some sort of banquet room to hold a little girls night out/bridal shower/bachelorette party. Oh, ya. Plus I had to call all the family, friends, etc and invite them to tomorrow night, which was nearly impossible since it is Valentine's day and everyone is out with thier lovers, and get a head count for the restaraunt. Fortunately, it didnt take me all night to get this together. Most of it has been planned, I will finish the rest tomorrow afternoon I suppose.

We had a nice night together with the family. We had a little BBQ and hung out. My husband came home a little after everyone had arrived and when he walked through the door he said, "why is the black car outside running? and why are the keys locked inside?" Ya... you heard that right. I guess my sister had locked her keys in her car with it running! It had been in the driveway for over two hours! I guess her mind is so crazy right now trying to get ready for her wedding Saturday that she completely forgot to turn off the car! So over an hour later, after trying to break into the car to turn it off, Austin (her fiance) FINALLY got in! Ohman.... what a day!

Although it has seroiusly been one of the most insane days I have had in a LONG time.... it is still Valentine's Day. It's such a special day to really tell someone how much you love and appreciate them. I am SO grateful for my men. I love Mike and Maddox more than anything. They are both such a light to me. I love them so much. They mean the world to me.

Tired Little Guy

Maddox woke up at 6:30 this morning so stinkin' fussy!! I thought he might be hungry, so I put him in his high chair, and gave him some cheerios to snack on. I found myself being preoccupied with something or other, and when I came back to check on him, this is what I found. What a cutie!

Two Steps!

Well, it's official. My little boy is growing up! He just took two whole steps (then did an amazing face plant ANY mom would be proud of!) I can't believe he is growing up so fast! Time has flown by! I'm not sure I can consider him "walking" yet, but he sure is close! Before you know it he will be graduateing High School, then coming home from his mission.... and then grandbabies! AHH!! I don't want my little boy to grow up! Can't he just stay little FOREVER!?

One thing does remind me however of how little he still is. Little Eisteins is his FAVORITE. I'd say he would sit an watch Baby Einsteins all day if I would let him. It's so fun having a little guy who is this age. He is so curious, always getting into SOMETHING (which can be absolutely adorable and yet 100% annoying all at the same time). We sure love him!

No Doubt About It

I FINISHED A BOOK!!!

I have needed some sort of pick-me-up and was struggling on what to do. Go to the gym? Nah... Take an institute class? Too much effort to make it to class.... and the list goes on. I decided that if I read one book a month, that would be AMAZING. Considering I DONT READ, I thought it would be a good challenge, and yet give me some sort of activity to help me relax, strengthen my testimony, overcome some down days, and help my overall attitude. In January I chose to read "No Doubt About It" by Sheri Dew and I loved every minute of it. She had some WONDERFUL insights that were super helpful to me. It really made me contemplate how dedicated I really am to the gospel, and helped me rededicate myself.

This next month I have decided to read "Lighten Up!" by Chieko N. Okazaki. I sure hope I like it! If any of you have any suggestions or reading material PLEASE send it my way. Like I said before I DONT READ, so I have no idea whats out there! Please share!!
