Shmeckle Day

At our last appointment, good ol' Dr K told us that our next ultrasound will be on Shmeckle Day. "excuse me? its what?" "Shmeckle Day"... looking slightly confused he explained that it's the day we find out if baby burton has a shmeckle or not. I couldn't help but laugh. Can you tell our Dr is Jewish? LOVE IT! Anyways. We thought it would be fun to ask our family and friends what they thought. Do you think baby burton has a shmeckle, or no shmeckle? Let us know on the pole to the right. Don't know what a shmeckle is? Feel free to google it and I'm sure you will figure it out. Happy voting!

There's a Spaceship in my Tummy

Well, at least that's what Maddox tells me. I guess we can make it official and let the blog world know... yes. We're pregnant. FINALLY. Its been a rough year. Lots of prayers. Lots of meds. Lots of tears. Lots of anxiety. Lots of waiting. But it happened. FINALLY. For the first few weeks after we told Maddox there was a baby in my tummy he would talk about it quite often. He would tickle my tummy saying he was tickling the baby. He would give my tummy kisses for the baby. It was quite cute and I loved it. Then 2 weeks ago we had an ultrasound. We brought the picture home to show Maddox. I said "Maddox, do you know what that is?!" He looked at the picture for a minute and said "spaceship". "No no Maddy, thats the baby in mom's tummy." To which he replied "no mom, spaceship". hm... So a few days later I showed him a picture in What to Expect when Expecting of what Baby Burton should look like. I said "look maddy, its what the baby in mommys tummy looks like". Again, "no mommy. spaceship in moms tummy." So I guess it's official. We're not having a baby. In December we will be proud parents of a baby spaceship. We couldn't be happier.

Life's a Beach

My mom and I had a few days off work, so we thought it would be fun to take a little trip to Marina to visit my sister. We got to Los Banos right around lunch time, and knew that Maddox would be hungry. Anything we recommended eating to him he said he didnt want. Hamburger? no. Frenchfries? no. Sandwich? no. Quesadilla? no.... what did he want for lunch? Ice cream. So we stopped at the Foster Freeze and got ourselves an ice cream. When we got to Marina we were off to the beach! We had so much fun running around and trying to outrun the waves. We saw tons of jelly fish that had washed on the beach. When we got home we found an old soccer ball and started kicking it around. Maddox had SO much fun playing! I don't think we had ever really played soccer with him before but now he's obsessed! Can't wait to see him play this fall on a team. We love coming over here to the coast to see my sister. We always have the BEST time!

They Say It's Your Birthday

Maddy's 3rd birthday was last Tuesday. I can't believe my baby boy is THREE! I can't believe he's growing up this fast. Wasn't I just in the hospital like a month ago having him? Aw man, time flew by too fast! We took Maddox to Disneyland for his birthday earlier this month, but we couldnt resist getting together as a family for lunch and celebrating. Pizza and Costco cake. Is there anything better? Maddox wanted a "dragon cake". The closest thing Costco had to a dragon cake was a dinosaur. You take what you can get. Luckily, Maddox didnt argue one bit that it wasnt a dragon cake. In fact, he still called it his dragon cake. He got lots of fun things from his grandmas and grandpas and aunts, uncles and cousins. I think his favorite might have been from Aunt Kimmy. She got him lots of fun things for the pool. He LOVED his goggles and wore them for most of the day. He wouldnt take them off! He even had to take them to sushi with us when we went for dinner later that night. Maddox LOVES sushi. I love that he is my sushi baby. His favorite is the soup, because of the "cheese". He thinks the little tofu squares in the soup is cheese.... whatever kid. I sure love my Maddy-bug.

Happy Easter

Baskets, Egg Hunt, Candy Overload... yup, that pretty much sums it up!

The Best Trip EVER

This week we took Maddox to Disneyland. And when I say "we", I mean myself, Mikey, my mom and dad, my sister her husband and son, my brother, and 12 of our friends from Arizona. (21 people in all!) We had been preparing Maddox for this trip for the last 3 months. It has been non-stop Disney movie watching, and soundtracks in the car. We all purchased Disney tshirts even!

Wednesday we traveled down to LA, with our car FULL of luggage, the stroller, pillows, snacks, and somehow US. That night we met the Norton's at the hotel and hung out in the lobby for a few hours. There's nothing like being with the Nortons. It is ALWAYS fun. Never ever a dull moment! I think the funniest was when Russ popped the button on his pants and had Jani fix it, in the lobby! That night we went to eat, and we all ate WAY too much, but it was SO fun to all be together! The next morning was all things Disney.

Logan and Maddox waiting for the Tram

The whole gang as we were getting to the gates.
As soon as we walked in, he couldn't stop looking around and pointing at all the fun things going on.

First thing we saw when we walked through the gates was GOOFY!

First ride of the day was the rockets. Maddox wasnt too sure of going on a ride, but he chose to go on this first one with my mom. After that he LOVED going on the rides. After EVERY ride he would say "more! again!" He had SO much fun!

Maddy giggled the entire time he drove the cars. He could hardly see over the hood, but that didnt stop him from LOVING this ride!

"The Baby Whisperer"- The entire group wanted to go on "Space Mountain", but since we had 4 little kids with us someone had to stay behind. Russ volunteered. We were only gone maybe 15 minutes, and when we returned all 4 little kiddies were asleep! What a champ Russ!

Maddox couldnt pass up an opportunity to play in a car. He LOVED toon-town. The kid went crazy!

One of our last stops was to meet Mickey. What a fun trip!

I'm Sorry, I Can't Help It!

In just about two weeks, we will be heading down south to visit my favorite place in the whole world. Today I realized that not only am I excited, and with each passing day as it gets closer and closer does my excitement build, but I have become obsessed. I guess it's because I havent been to my "happy place" in almost 5 years. It's where Mike and I spent a week on our honeymoon. Its where my parents and grandparents took me and my siblings at least once a year growing up, and its FINALLY time to share the fun with Maddox. I cant wait! And like I said, I've become obsessed. Everyday I check thier website to make sure I know the times of EVERYTHING (opening/closing/special fun things happening)! I took my mom and sister to their store to get Maddox a shirt to wear for the special occassion, and we left with a shirt for ALL of us to wear. We cant get much more obsessed than that. I keep making lists in my mind of the things I need to pack already (ya, the trip is still over 2 weeks away, who cares!), or make sure I bring. I find myself throughout the day jumping online to see if I can find a new website that will show me some fun facts, or fun things to do! Ive checked the forecast already. Its become rediculous. But seriously, when youre going to a place THIS fun, how can you not daydream and anticipate the fun, even if it is weeks away!
Wouldn't you want to spend a day with these fine folks?
