Let Freedom Ring!

Well all I know is that this year's 4th of July celebration was MUCH more fun than last years. This morning when we woke up we got all dressed up in our 4th of July gear and headed over to the church building for our first visit in our new ward. Every year they have a pancake breakfast and this year was no exception. We weren't sure how we would be welcomed, but it turned out we knew lots of people and enjoyed chatting with everyone we knew.

After the social we headed over the Grandma and Grandpa Burton's to hang out for a while. We BBQ'd and had a great time. Maddy even got to go "swimming" in his pool that Grandma Wheeze had gotten him for his birthday. He LOVES that pool! It's so fun to watch him splash around. We had such a relaxing afternoon, and I even got in a little nap!! WHOO HOO! This evening we headed over to the Buchanan Star Spangled Spectacular held at the high school across the street from where we live. We actually didnt make it quite to the high school, but settled for a nice shady spot of grass at the Jr High in the same complex. We had PERFECT seats! The best part was, it was free! Maddox met all kinds of new friends. It was fun to see him interact, especially with the girls. What a flirt! The fireworks show was AWESOME! I thought for sure Maddox would be scared and cry the whole show. He jumped only twice and then he seemed to understand that there was nothing to be scared of. He just relaxed and sat on my lap while he watched the show. He was an ANGEL! I couldnt have asked for a better kid!
What a great country we live in. We are so blessed to have the opportunities and freedoms that we have. I am grateful to live in the USA. Happy Birthday America!
